Micro-lending: This year we decided to support an exciting micro-lending program through Kiva.org.

Kiva connects lenders to people all over the world requesting small loans.
This is an amazing program where we as individuals, families, businesses, churches, etc.... can help our international (or domestic) brothers and sisters help themselves.
In short, you can loan as little as $25, see a photo and description of the person receiving the loan, and when it is paid back (currently about 98% of loans are paid back) you can either take your money out of Kiva or relend it to someone else.

During 2012 we will be funding this exciting Kiva program utilizing a portion of our ONLINE SALES & Off-Site EVENTS.

At the Waconia Fair Trade Gift Shop we are proud to serve the Waconia Community and surrounding areas. We realize and appreciate the great work many local organizations do for the ones in need in our very own communities.

We continue this wonderful initiative where we donate a portion of our sales from our mortar and brick store to the Waconia United Food Shelf.

We are thankful of the great work they do for those in need.

You will be supporting the Waconia United Food Shelf with every purchase you make from our shop located inside Mackenthun's Fine Foods in Waconia.
